'Transmission from Doopie - The Null Dimension (Doopie and Wells)'

Hello there, m’ friends! This is Doopie, and I’m so excited to bring ya our first ever transmission from across the multiverse! Where I come from is a little bit different than what y’ may be used to. We’re not from a single universe, but instead lots o’ different ones!

“But Doopie!” I hear y’ cry! “What does that mean? How can y’ broadcast multiple dimensions at once?” Excellent questions, m' hypothetical readers! In short, I got a friend named Wells. And just like how sailors explore different islands or astronauts explore different planets, Wells an’ I explore the vast multiverse o’ dimensions! From the concrete to the abstract, from the normal to the weird. Every possible world y’ can imagine, I betcha we’ve been there! A world full o’ nothin' but sandcastles? Been there (I live there, actually)! A world where outer space is made o’ sweets an’ treats? Been there! A world full o’ skyscrapers as high as the eye can see where streetlamps literally dance in the light? Oh, y’ better believe we’ve been there!

But perhaps m’ favorite story of all time is the one where we first met. Where we teamed up and saved all those worlds from the most evil form imaginable: a being that can’t go by any other name but… Corruption! It’s a long story, so y’ best buckle up!

So we start our story with this human guy named Wells, right? Just mindin’ his own business in his own dimension, y’know, as y’ do, when out of nowhere—WHAMMO! This portal just rips open in the fabric of space! Just outta nowhere, a huge rift the size o’ Wells himself! A wormhole, y’ might even call it! And right inside there: scariest monster y’ could ever imagine! Bones as black as the night sky, a goopy orifice where its face should be, and a body curled into the most hideous abomination. It looked like if a beetle were made entirely of inky, matte ribs. He don't know it then, but this creature was the most horrific entity in all dimensions: Corruption!

It jumped out at Wells like it was catchin’ its prey! It latched onto his face, dripping the ooze of dimensions onto him! But luckily for him, Wells was one sharp fighter, he was! He ducked and squirmed out of Corruption’s slick tendrils. He looked around himself, knowin’ wherever he ran, Corruption would follow. The only place he could escape where he knew he'd be safe was inside that wormhole, now only half the size as it was when it opened. With how much it kept shrinking and depleting, he thought maybe if he timed it just right, he's get on the other side before Corruption had the chance to gain on him. Time was tickin’, and Corruption was lookin’ hungrier and hungrier. If he didn’t act right then an’ there, he’d’ve been swallowed up whole! So Wells did the only thing he could think of: jump straight into that wormhole, wherever it took him!

Well, where he ended up may not have been the prettiest o’ places, but it was sure a heck of a lot better than bein’ stranded in his own dimension with an evil being tryin’ t’ eat th’ place up! It looked like this new place, though, Corruption had already gotten to first! We ended up callin’ the place Event Horizon, as there was nothin’ there but a bunch of floating debris from what used to be a fully inhabited world, spiralling closer an’ closer to a gapin’ black hole in the center. Now what was he to do? The portal back home was way too small for him to fit through anymore, and he was on the brink of spirallin’ into a void o’ nothin’!

But wait! There, just about to be sucked into the void, was a bright, shiny drop of rainbow liquid! Sparks were flyin’ out of it and each time they hit a floating rock or piece o’ debris, a small rip into space opened up and then quickly closed. Was this the same thing responsible for openin’ up that huge rift Wells jumped through to get here? It shared the same rainbow colorin’ an’ everything! The black hole was slurpin’ it up at godspeed, so there was no time to think. Anything that seemed like a plan would be good enough!

So Wells jumped! He jumped and leapt from one island of floatin’ earth to th’ next! He slipped and tripped more times than either of us’d like to admit. On his last jump, he lost his balance completely and almost fell straight into the void! But Wells was quick! He latched onto whatever edge of the floatin’ boulder slab he could grab and pulled himself up. There, the droplet of energy was waitin’ for him! And just in time too. Had he stalled any longer, both he and the droplet woulda been swallowed up into oblivion! He grabbed onto the droplet and a burst of energy rushed throughout him! He was glowing’ just like the droplet or the rifts themselves! He could feel a power pushing through him. A power he had never felt before. He closed his eyes, concentrated real hard, and thrust his arms out. Before he knew it, there was a portal in front of him just like the one that led him out of his own dimension. But this one didn’t take him back home: it took him to a land of grass, bells, and bunnies. One step inside the portal and he found himself in… The Bell Dimension!

More on that later, but right now, Doopie's feelin’ a bit tired. Storytellin’ is hard work, innit? Don’t worry! I’ll get right into the Bell Dimension next time!

See ya next time! Doopie’s gotcha in the loop!
