'(5th) The Seven Sources'
Prologue: Back in Business
Here we are at Mertzen Town. P1 and P2 are talking to Mertzen and Whoozitt, the chancellor of the Mertzen country. Oh no! JESTERS! Wait, what? Jesters? They’re taking over Mertzen Town. That escalated quickly. “All three of you! It’s the Klutz! They’re an evil race. They’re what Slasher is. You really don’t want to be engaged in battle with them. I’ll hold them off. My friend, Melrin, has a palace you can stay at. It’s up the road, just north. I don’t want any trouble. NOW GO!!!” says Mertzen. Oh boy. What could we get ourselves into this time?
They eventually reach Melrin’s palace. He comes out and says, “Great! Come in now! Hello, my name is Melrin. I’m what is known as a con arti—I mean fortune teller. You’re welcome to stay here as long as you like. However, my friend, Mertzen wanted me to speak with you about the Klutz. They’re an evil race that is bent on taking over the country. I don’t know much about them. I’m sure you’ll be fine as long as you don’t get them angry. However, there is a strange phenomenon going on in the Xtreme Trail. There’s a corruption going on by the Xplodudes, who are a gang of bombs. Don’t take it the wrong way; I just don’t want you in my palace when I’m doing business, okay? The trail is just to the southeast. Tell me about it when you get back! (Good riddance.)”
Meanwhile at Slasher Castle
“Peeeeeeeeeeeeekiiiiiiiiiiiiiingtoooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnn…………………………………” says Slasher. Pekkington says, “Yes sir? You sound bored.” “I AM bored, Pekkington. Since that blue rectangle trashed my orb plant, I’ve had NOTHING to do. Give me current events now.” “Well, have you heard of the Klutz?” “I am one. What is your point?” “A group of evil Klutz have invaded Mertzen Town. If you could stop them before P1, you could have the recognition you need.” “What an excellent idea! I’ll go tell Bleech.” Just as he walks out, someone else walks in and bumps into him. Slasher says, “Hey, watch where you’re going!” The other man says, “I’m sorry, sir. Is there anything I can do for you?” “What? I’m sorry, but I don’t know you.” “But you are a Klutz, and therefore under the reign of King Clement. Based on your red and black garb, you are higher than me. So give me orders.” “I think there’s a misunderstanding. I have no idea who this Clement person is but—actually, yes. What is your name, soldier?” “Conrad. Prof. Conrad Klutz.” “Very well, Conrad. From now on, you shall be on my side and no one else’s. You will do what I say and what I say only. Understood?” “Yes sir.” “Very good. Come. We are going to Mertzen Town first.
Chapter 1: An Xtreme Welcome
We are back with P1 and P2 at the Xtreme Trail. Despite its name, it’s actually quite boring. It does, however, have bomb creatures known as Xtremes. No plot-related things happen until we run into a tree-creature who calls himself Podleaf. He says, “Excuse me sirs, but I must be lost. Do you know the way to Blank Forest?” P1 says, “No. Why?” “It’s my home, and I left just to get some purer and brighter sun.” “I’m sorry, I don’t know how to get to Blank Forest.” “Oh, that’s fine. By the way, pardon my curiosity, but why are you headed to Fort Xplodude?” “We’ve heard about a strange corruption gone on by a group known as the Xplodudes. Do you know what they’re like?” “YES! It is EXTREMELY dangerous to go without knowing what you’re doing. Umm. Umm! Okay, if you guys are really determined, try to knock me out in a battle. As a tree, I’m pretty durable.” “Okay, try us.” Boss battle. You win. Podleaf says, “Hmm. Better than I expected. Very well. Be careful in the fortress, though. And don’t make any Xtremes angry. Trust me, I learned the hard way.” He leaves. Time to go to the fortress.
