'(1st) Star Guardians'

Chapter 1: Hello, Worlds

After P1 and P2 get settled in their new home, they decide to go outside and explore. A gelatinous creature known as a Jelaato (a very common species in this world) warns the brothers about a man named Slasher. He has heard about the two and doesn’t appreciate new heroes and is sort of not really a hero anymore. More like a villain. P1 says he can take down Slasher and that he was known as the Hero of Legend back in Plainwood. Jelaato explains about all of his minions and goons such as the underground Spies or the aquatic Spleeshes. In order to prep for all the battles, he generously teaches the two about jumping, dodging, and healing. After the battle, he gives P1 the satchel, which can show the players’ stats, items, equipment, map, moves, and enemy log.

After practice, P1 and P2 travel down to take down the evil man starting out in Mertzen Trail. It is a nice luscious and beautiful place. It’s pretty straightforward and it just teaches you the basics of the game such as how to move, jump, etc. Meanwhile, at Slasher Castle, Slasher, the main antagonist, is trying to find a way to slow down those pesky people who keep perpetually popping up to probably foil his plan. So he sends his two best troops, Major Pekkington and Captain Bleech. They will be the rivals of the game. (Rival is a term I use for this series to define bosses that keep appearing and keep fighting.) While the brothers keep venturing, they see a spiky-shelled creature known as a Porcu (a common enemy). But this one is HUGE. This is your first legitimate boss battle. After it’s defeated you keep venturing on.

Afterwards, we meet Bleech. He is a fish species called a Spleesh. He engages you in a battle. What he does is just flop around and spit water and bleach everywhere. Three jumps knock him out. He then says, “Hmm. I shupposhe that you’re not ash weak ash I though you were. I jusht can’t wait to tell Mashter Shlasher about thish. Oh, and beware of the monshtersh that may appear very shoon. Shome may have shpikesh and shome may shwim. Alsho, there’sh a giant tree in the way of the cave you need to escape, sho have fun!” We get up to the tree. It moves. It raises one branch and says in an eerie voice: “You wish to enter Stalagmite Cave? Very well. Find a way to chop me down and I will grant you entrance.” Time for the first chapter boss battle! There is an axe behind him. You must find a way to jump over and strike him three times. He can move, though. Once he topples, he says “You are truly worthy of the challenges ahead. BEWARE! There may be sentient rocks or living diamonds. Be sure to hone your skills, young ones.” Time to enter the cave.

Chapter 2: Spelunking Stalagmite Cave

Here we are in the cave. It’ dark and dank. There are switches and mechanics around as if there is someone watching us. There are pointy turtle-like enemies known as Porcus. Jelaatos like to stay here as well. Eventually we see a red one. It says, “Lookin’ for a Jelaato, huh? Yeah, well tough luck. We’re the Jelaati. We’re the worse cousins of Jelaato. Someone said he was lookin’ for ya. He gave me a couple diamonds to take ya out. I can’t say ‘no’ to that, huh? Well, ya look like the people he was describin’ so, ya better get ready for this!” This battle is easy. Just jump on his head three times. After you beat him, you see a couple Porcus bullying some sort of insect creature. You take them out and the creature says, “Thank you. My size is nothing compared to those guys. My name’s Sakura. I’m what’s known as an Echo, it’s a sort of bug. I travel a lot but get into trouble a lot as well. If you happen to see me, help me and I’ll make it worth your while.” And they press onward.

After you venture through, you see two mallets on the ground. You pick them up. They look like they cracked the ground. They may be enough to break cracks and blocks and such. It seems you can also hurt Porcus with it. Cool. As you trek through once more, a penguin appears. IT’S PEKKINGTON! He says, “So. You took out Bleech, huh? Phh, he’s not really fit for fighting you two. Yet. He has more of an advantage in water. Me, however, I’m balanced in all sort of environments. Master Slasher wants me to dispose of you as soon as possible. ‘Dispose’ was the exact word he used. As if you were garbage or something. I’m not one to insult. Anyway, let me ‘dispose’ of you right away. Trash day is right around the corner!” When you beat him, he slides away. I think I see a light at the end of the cave…

CRASH! The exit is blocked off by a collapse of boulders. A rock-like creature appears. It says, “Well, well, well. P1 and P2, I presume. That Pekkington guy told me about you. You’re a lot more… geometric than I thought. Anyway, there is no way you’ll get past! Pekkington told me to stand guard, and maybe even have a little spar with you. Yeah. Good LUCK! Do you see this? I am literally a sentient stalactite! But if this is how you want to play, you may. GAH! I just rhymed! Well, it’s fighting time! GAH!” You fight him. He will try to fall from the ceiling to squish you. If he does, he’ll get stuck. That is your chance to attack him with a hammer! Three times turns him into little pebbles. The remains of him say, “You… won’t win! I don’t think… those like you… can swim! Have fun once you exit. Don’t… drowns! HAHAHAHAH!” You exit the cave, and enter a small archipelago with small islands. Welcome to Seasick Lagoon.

Chapter 3: Nautical Naughtiness

You approach a long line of small islands. You must alternate going in and out to progress. There are several fish enemies known as Spleeshes. That’s what Bleech is. You come across a blue island. What? You walk on it and it turns out to be a giant fish! It says, “Hey, watch where you’re stepping!” P1 says, “Sorry, I didn’t know… I just thought–” “Well someone’s gotta teach you some manners. C’mere!” You fight him. Underwater. In order to damage him, you have to wait until he tires out and flops to the ground with his belly up. Damage him three times. You beat him. He says, “Sorry about that. People told me to try to toughen up. I’m actually a really nice guy. Sorry about that. Hey, maybe I can help you traverse the ocean. It’s not fit for people like you.” You agree. Big Chomp is now your friend.
