Amos Dreyer [AY-mohs DRAY-er] (he/they), also known by his pen names of Anon Amos Denouement [uh-NON AY-mohs day-noo-MAW], Anon Denouement, or Anonymous Denouement is one of the main antagonists in the first installment of Sinister Recluse: The Statue on Riverside. He is a former substitute teacher and current mystery fiction writer and podcaster.
History and origin
Anon is the writer and narrator of a slightly underground mystery fiction anthology podcast, Smells Like Murder to Me, a series designed to emulate true crime podcasts but with more fantastical and paranormal elements to it. Anon claims that everything in his podcasts are true and non-fabricated, but he is met with skepticism. He claims to have encountered cryptids such as Sasquatch, el Chupacabra, and jackalopes, while also having experiences with demons and ghosts like invisible men and telepathic women. He keeps the cryptids he claims to have encountered in his log cabin with him as pets, and has even taken a particular liking to his pet jackalope, Jackie, named after his ex-lover.
Anon gives himself a myriad of titles, including "substitute teacher," "podcaster," "author," "cryptid zoologist," "paranormal investigator," "maker-goer-awayer of the paranormal," and "all-around likeable guy." He insists that all of those titles have quotation marks around them.
In Season 1 of The Statue on Riverside, Matt Kennett hired Anon to be in charge of enforcement and legislature. With Matt being uncomfortable in handling a demonic scare on his own, he prefers to have someone else do it so it doesn't make him look bad. Anon is in charge of enforcing all of Matt's arbitrary new laws about this so-called "Sinister Recluse" that has ravaged Plainwood in the events of the story. Everything Anon witnesses, he also records in his podcast, which he posts online for everyone to see.
